I'm entering my bio because George asked and this is the least I can do, to recognize his effort and my appreciation of all the reunions, e-mails, etc.
After graduating StonyBrook in '75, I entered a PhD program in community sociology at Boston U. Perception did not fit reality and I dropped out; academia was never my goal. Eventually, after twists and turns, I found strategic planning. That is the aspect of advertising that determines what a product should represent and what a campaign should communicate. It was a perfect fit for me, indepth exploration of a category, development of a communication message and then moving on to the next category.
In 1983, I met and married my husband, John Carahalios and his sons. While retired for several years, he was an engineer in upper management. He's a wonderful match for me: smart, a strong backbone and very kind. In 1988 our daughter, Lauren, was born. Several years later, I stopped working outside the house and am currently even busier between chauffering, academic assistance (I've been forced to read Beowolf, understand black holes and the dictomy of Victorican architechure to name just a few projects.), helping my mom and mother-in-law, as well as struggling to survive and thrive. And by our next reunion, I'll be a step-grandmother. George, when is the next reunion?
