John Toner

Passed Jan 23 2024

Paul Jason
· Sorry to hear of John Toner’s passing. I have many memories of playing head to head against John in the North South Football Games thru the years. !!
He was a tough player !!!
We were friendly off the field but we had some good battles on the field.
May he rest in peace !!!

Matthew Errett
Yesterday, a friend for almost 60 years, John Toner, left us for the other dimension. John was a very good friend, with a larger than life personality.
It was just over a week ago John & I shared a “sackful” of White Castle burgers.
He will…… rather, he is already, missed. Rest in Peace my friend.

· John Toner and I met when we were six years old...Our friendship would be a lifetime. Once he is your friend you got the complete package, you take it or you leave it...We both went through life, from grade school, high school, adult life. Shared together the good and bad times. If you ever needed someone to cover your back for any reason, he was your man. John was family, and I will miss him... R.I.P my Brother.. Added 2 Pic's... John with my 2 son's and myself...Cub Scouts, John's holding the sock. Circa 1965

· A few words about John Toner, to say he was one of a kind doesn't cut it . We met in junior high and were part of a group known as the Swamp Boys where we were all just the boys hanging out drinking and partying. We all became so close it was amazing! and most of us are still dear friends and we are like family, some we see and talk to allot, and some not so much, but we have the memories of those days to cling to
John was the toughest guy i knew with a heart of gold i would break his balls and all he would ever do is say FU you Lucas he is already missed and always
will be .......

Great memories of John, he was one who crossed the aisle, friends to all, evenus “long hair’s”. Those were the days, Kenny, I remember all you guys, with fondness and smiles. I remember one night, in particular, in front of Mac’s, one summer night, out in front, singing all the old 60’s music, Ken, you guys knew all the words. RIP John.

John was my closest friend in elementary school. But that was 60 years ago. We drifted apart once we got to junior high. His dad worked at the A&P grocery store that was near the intersection of Lakeville Rd and Union Tpke, and his mom was very nice. John and I would sleep at each other’s homes often. The last time I saw him was at the reunion we had that was at the World’s Fair site.
Bonnie Spar So sorry to hear this news. Thanks for sharing.

Anonymous I was in love with him when we were 8 years old...he was so handsome
Steven Greenhouse Needless to say, these type of emails suck
