Lynn Kornblum

Lake Worth Beach , FL

I've have moved around a bit in the last 48 years. Starting with moving to California 7 days after graduating GNSH. I packed up my Chevy Vega and drove across the country. I had arranged to stay with a cousin just outside of Los Angeles until I could get a job and apartment. My first job was at Knott's Berry Farm Amusement Park. Made little money, but had the time of my life. So much fun for an 18 year old! I stayed in Calif. until the earthquakes finally made me reevaluate my choice of residence. I moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1988; had a house built for me and started over. No job, no friends. Worked a lot of different jobs. I eventuality got into fine jewelry sales for a manufacturer based in Florida and became the District Manager for 7 of their stores in Arizona & New Mexico. I spent too many hours on freeways & worked 12 hour days and just got burned out with fine jewelry.

I changed fields and went into residential lighting and decorating. I always enjoyed interior decorating and lighting is just a part of that. I worked for Expo Design Center in Scottsdale, AZ as their Lighting Specialist until Home Depot closed all the stores. I stayed in lighting in Phoenix for a while longer. I really loved Arizona. You go 2 - 3 hours north of Phoenix and you're in Flagstaff where it's 65 to 70 degrees (no humidity) in the summer or snowing heavily in the winter. I was in Phoenix when it was 122 degrees and you just don't go outside. Summers are only 110 to 115 degrees with 5% to 7% humidity and it only took me a year to acclimate to this. I very much miss Arizona now.

I have 2 older brothers that are 13 and 15 years older then me, and the older one developed Alzheimer's. He and his wife had retired in Port St. Lucie, FL and I felt I needed to spend time with him while he still had "good" days. In 2012 I just picked up & moved again, with no job or friends waiting for me. Found a very good job in Boca Raton, FL and settled in Boynton Beach; which was halfway between my brother and work. Worked for that company for 8 years until this past March; when Covid-19 stopped everything. I now reside in Lake Worth Beach, FL (a little closer to my brother, who is still doing fairly well) and plan on partially retiring in July of this year. These last 2 months of staying at home has shown me I absolutely need to work. There is only so gardening you can do. Although, I think my 3 cats enjoy the mid afternoon snacks they have been getting.

These past 48 years have been a roller coaster for me. I enjoyed my life so far: made some friends; lost some friends; got to own some beautiful homes; & gained a little knowledge along the way.
I never could quite find the right man for me, but not for lack of trying! Still lookin!
I looked at everyone on the Facebook page and saw some old friends and some old crushes. It made me smile. I think we have been blessed to have lived in this time line. I would not want to be a teenager now.

My best wishes to all,
